• how many teachers who had 20 or more years of continuous service with the Comhairle have left the Comhairle’s employment before they were aged 55 and able to access their pension?

Answer

Since the revision of the Comhairle’s Long Service Award Scheme in March 2009:
1. How many teachers who had 20 or more years of continuous service with the Comhairle have left the Comhairle’s employment before they were aged 55 and able to access their pension? 
One employee under the age of 55 left the Comhairle's employment with 20 or more years. 
We cannot confirm if they were able to access their pension.  Teachers' pension scheme is administered by the SPPA, Scottish Public Pension Agency. 

2. How many of these teachers received a Long Service Award? 
No long service was awarded.
