Which bailiff companies were used to recover monies for the council?

Which debt collection companies were used  to recover monies owed to the council?

How much did the council spend on bailiff services during 2016-17?

Answer

The Comhairle has recovered £12,937,820.75 of the £13,358,813.52 billed for 2016/17.

The Comhairle does not maintain its own housing stock and as such rent arrears for social housing are not an issue. Court fines are issued by the sheriff court not the Local Authority.

The Sheriff Officer employed to assist with recovery of debts is Walker Love based in Glasgow. The total spend to Walker Love for 2016/17 was £729.58.
