    1. Determined by the number of children and young people (from birth to 18 years) visiting each week? Yes / No
    2. Regulated in another manner? Please explain.

 

  1. Is continence a listed responsibility provided by your local authority area for any of the following professions:
    1. School nurses Yes / No
    2. Health visitors Yes / No
    3. Other healthcare professionals Yes /No. If yes, please specify who.

    1. How many children and young people with continence problems do each of these professionals have responsibility for?
    2. How many children and young people are on the waiting list for this service, and how long has the person currently at the top of the list had to wait?

1.     Does your local authority provide a dedicated continence clinic? Yes / No.
If you answered no, please go to question 5.

Our authority does not provide a continence clinic, however the Health Board do have a service that we/Parents can refer children to

e.     Product supply for paediatric continence problems

a.     Determined by the number of children and young people (from birth to 18 years) visiting each week? Yes / No
b.     Regulated in another manner? Please explain.
 
5.     Is continence a listed responsibility provided by your local authority area for any of the following professions:
a.     School nurses Yes / No
We don’t have School Nurses

b.     Health visitors Yes / No
Health Visitors advise & provide nappies etc for Children if required, but Education are not responsible for their Job descriptions that would be the Health Board

c.     Other healthcare professionals Yes /No. If yes, please specify who.
Public Health Nurses work in schools and would also advise on continence & work with Families
 
6.     If you answered yes to any of the professions listed in question 5 could you please tell us:
a.     How many children and young people with continence problems do each of these professionals have responsibility for? That would be confidential personal data that Health would have.
b.     How many children and young people are on the waiting list for this service, and how long has the person currently at the top of the list had to wait? As above, health Boards have info on waiting lists not Education
 
7.     If you answered no to any of the professions listed in question 5, was there a decision taken to remove continence from the listed responsibilities of any of these professionals and, if so, when did this happen?

b.     review the existing paediatric continence provision? No

a.     If so, do the services commissioned in your LA use it? Possibly Health Board knows but no Health Visitors or Public Health Nurses have passed this info to me.
