Answer
1) Do any of the leisure facilities operated by the Local Authority provide free sanitary products to those using the leisure facilities?
We publicise and provide free ‘emergency’ sanitary product provision at Ionad Sprs Ledhais (Lewis Sports Centre) the regional sports facility for the Outer Hebrides in Stornoway. We are currently considering offering a similar service at our other smaller sites.
2) If yes to question 1, is there a policy in place for the provision of free sanitary products for those using the leisure facilities?
There is not a specific policy; signs in changing areas highlight the availability of the items.
3) If yes to question 1, what is the budget for providing this service?
There is no specific budget for this service but the cost is minimal. The option of making a small donation into one of our charity boxes is offered but is not obligatory.
4) If no to question 1, do the leisure facilities provide sanitary products on their premises either through dispensers in toilets; in on-site shops; or elsewhere.
