Can you forward your policy regarding council workers standing as potential candidates as elected councilors.
Answer
The rules governing employees standing for election are detailed in Law which the Comhairle adheres to. Politically restricted post holders are disqualified for standing in terms of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 and a list of those post holders within the Comhairle is enclosed:
