I’m writing to you to ask for data under the Freedom of information Act. For the financial years 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 could you please provide me with:
- The number of council executive, committee and sub-committee meetings held in private
- The number off successful applications to Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee to hold a meeting of the council executive, a committee or sub-committee in private without providing 28 days’ notice
- The number of times journalists or members of the public have been asked to leave council executive, committee and sub-committee meetings
Please see the information requested below and attached. Details of the items and private items at each meeting during 2013-14 is enclosed. All other agendas and minutes from 2014 are available on the Comhairle website and the information at (1) and (3) is available to view. In respect of (2) this provision is not applicable to the Comhairle. The timetable of meetings for the following year is agreed each October. The Standing orders, which are also available online, detail the process for calling additional meetings. During 2013 an additional meeting of Environment and Protective Services was held on 24 July to consider two planning application that had to be determined before the next scheduled meeting. The was a special meeting of Comhairle on 24 July 2013 to consider two urgent financial items which had to be determined before the next scheduled meeting.
