Cremation And Burial

I am investigating the fall in burial numbers and a subsequent rise in cremation in Glasgow. I am looking into reasons for this and I would like to look into burial costs, and I was hoping you could provide me with any information you can. This could include any records you have on burials within the last few years that I could have a look at or opinions on why burial has fallen in popularity (cost, aesthetic of cemeteries etc). I have found that your council area has the cheapest burials in Scotland and if possible I’d like to find out how this is possible.

The costs associated with burials in the Western Isles have been subject to the same annual incremental percentage applied to other services provided by the Cleansing department of Municipal Services.
