Deferred Primary School

Question

To whom it may concern,   I would like to submit the following request for information under the Freedom of Information Act, relating to deferred primary school start for children born between September and February. Questions specifically relate to parent requests to defer school start out of the chronological age group to the August after the child turns 5.   Please provide this information broken down by year of requested delayed start. Please also only count each individual child once and please do not count multiple requests to different schools relating to the same child. If it is not possible to do this, please state clearly that multiple requests relating to the same child have been included. Please note this request relates to all state funded schools.  

1. How many children born between Sept and December had a request made by their parent/guardian to defer their entry to primary to a start date of: August 2017, August 2018, August 2019?
2. How many children born between January-February had a request made by their parent/guardian to defer their entry to primary to a start date of: August 2017, August 2018, August 2019?
3. In relation to the information requested in Q1 and Q2; how many of these requests were granted? Please break this down by year of requested delayed start: August 2017, August 2018, and August 2019
4. In relation to the information requested in Q1 and Q2; How many requests were turned down? Please break this down by year of requested delayed start: August 2017, August 2018, and August 2019
5. How many appeals or complaints have been made by parents regarding the denial of their request to defer a child born between September and December? Please break this down by year of requested delayed start: August 2017, August 2018, and August 2019
6. In each of the following years, how many children started, or are expected to, start reception? August 2017, August 2018, August 2019
