School Bus Pass Information

Question

Can you advise how many school children within a 3 mile radius of Liniclate School have purchased bus passes for travel to and from School (Liniclate only), this would be area Torlum, Linilcate, Creagorry, Ford Terrace & Hacklett area in Benbecula.

Answer

The Comhairle do not calculate distance on radius, this is done by the shortest walking distance that is deemed safe by the Comhairle.
 
For 2017 to 2018 the numbers were as follows:
6 Refused under 0.5 of a mile
20 Blocked awaiting information (no attempt made to pay for a Pass or 10 Journey Tickets by any of these pupils)
2 Approved A.S.N Transport

For 2018 to 2019 the numbers are follows:
6 Refused under 0.5 of a mile
22 Blocked awaiting information (Will shortly be sent a letter from Education asking them to pay if they wish to use the bus, if seats are available)
1 Approved A.S.N Transport
