Please read the important notes below before you proceed further. In particular please be aware of the procedures relating to how we deal with your comments or representations on planning applications.

Online Planning Information (Public Access)
The Comhairle as a Planning Authority has a statutory requirement to maintain a public register of planning applications. Valid planning applications received by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar are available on-line for public viewing. The publication of planning information on-line aims to make the planning process more accessible, inclusive, transparent and efficient. All of the information comes directly from the Comhairle’s planning application database, which is updated each working day. The Comhairle online planning information system, which you may have used to keep to date with recent planning applications and which is used for consultation purposes, has been updated – follow the same links to the site but you will notice an improved service provision.
Once registered, you can view, track and comment on planning applications. Please note there may be a few days delay between the Comhairle receiving an application and it being available to view online.
You can find out about new applications in your area by using the simple or advanced search. Searches can be saved by clicking on the ‘Save Search’ button on the search results page.
If you select the option to be notified of new results matching your saved search criteria your search will be re-run automatically and new results will be added to your notification list.
If you track an application and the status of this application changes or a document is added to this application, it will be added to your notified application list.

Planning Information that can be viewed On-Line
The planning documents to be displayed on the on-line portal will in the first instance include the planning application form, all plans, neighbour notification and land ownership certificate and in due course other documentation relative to the processing of the application including any Committee report or report on handling, decision notice and approved plans. In addition to the above images, the following data relating to your planning application will be keyed into a casework database system and will also form part of the planning register available for public viewing online. This data is considered to be non-personal data and will typically include the following:
