Pointers Drop-In Centre

About Us

Pointers on North Beach Street

Pointers Drop-in-Centre is a purpose built youth centre for 12 – 25 year olds funded by the Western Isles Council.  The new centre was designed in consultation with local young people who had a say in how it was refurbished.  Pointers Drop-in-Centre was opened in 2000 and since then has attracted a growing number of young people to take part in its activities and benefit from the services we offer.

Young people and parents are more than welcome to come along to the centre and have a look around.

Where We Are

Pointers Drop-in-Centre is located at 14-16 North Beach Street, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis right beside the Royal Bank.

Facilities

Youth Café

Our youth café is staffed by youth workers who are available to offer information and advice to young people.

We provide free internet access to young people using the café.  Other facilities we have on offer in the café include a pool table, the use of PS2, X-Box and Wii games consoles, TV, board games and more!

We also provide a range of snacks and have our own coffee machine.

Outback

We have the Outback room which is designed as a chill out room for over 15’s.  This is a space where young people can relax listen to music, watch TV or just have a chat without being disturbed.

Pointers Youth Committee

Pointers is a facility for young people run in conjunction with young people.  We have our own Youth Committee made up of 8- 10 young people who meet monthly and represent the views of their peers.
