Accessibility

General Policy and Conformance

Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar fully support WCAG (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) set out by the W3C (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) (World Wide Web Consortium)). These guidelines aim at ensuring websites are accessible by all users including those with disabilities.

Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards. CnES Web is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level 'AA'. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Should you have any problems with the accessibility of the CnES website, please Contact Us

Browser Support

This website aims to support all modern browsers.  For the best browsing experience we strongly recommend you use the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari. NB: Internet Explorer 10 or lower is not supported.

Changing Colours, Font, Text Size and Other Browser Settings

In order to maximise accessibility, most, if not all, modern browsers allow you to tailor your browsing experience by changing settings such as colours, font and text size.

The 'How To' guides available on the BBC’s Accessibility Pages (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) provide useful guidance on how to do this.
