Tourism Levy Update
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is continuing to explore options for sustainable tourism funding in the Outer Hebrides, recognising the need to invest in local services and infrastructure that support both residents and visitors.
Following initial engagement with the local tourism industry and community stakeholders, the Comhairle has paused further detailed investigations into an accommodation-based Visitor Levy. Feedback from local businesses and analysis of regional tourism patterns have highlighted challenges with such a model in island communities.
