Cllr Uisdean Robertson has praised the resilience of the community and noted the extensive work of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and partners following the award of additional Transport Scotland funding to the sound of Barra ferry route.
A record 18 schools will take part in the preliminary stages of the National Schools Gaelic Debate 2025, which will be held at An Lanntair in Stornoway on the 4th and 5th of November.
From Wednesday 1 October 2025, Museum nan Eilean, Stornoway, will move to low season hours.
The museum will be open Tuesday to Saturday 1pm-4pm until 31 March 2026.
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Adult Learning Team and the Library Service have launched new Gaelic Family Drop-In sessions at Stornoway Library to provide support for Gaelic learners and their families.
Tasglann nan Eilean, the archive service of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, has embarked on a collaborative project with Glasgow University which will result in an important local archive collection being catalogued, preserved and made publicly accessible.
